Man with Wooden Background

Norma is a first generation Mexican American who received her BSN degree and certification as Registered Nurse in 2010. She has since gained experience in Orthopedic Medicine, Medical Surgical and Home care.  In her experiences, she has identified a gap in available Spanish speaking providers  to service the Hispanic patients. Cultural and language barriers hinder effective communication with the patient, contributing to potentially negatively affected outcomes. "
